TM500

going to be purchasing a sat system vsoon and was wondering which are the best for a new comer like me.have heard a lot about different receivers but the one that sticks out to me above the rest is the DM500.if this is the one i get,how many channels am i going to be able to receive(sure i`ve seen somewhere on here that if set up proper and with a motorised dish i could get up to 3000 channels).

Mate whether you buy a tm500 (technomate) or dm500 (dreambox) the satellite options will effectively be the same. Yes you will get access to too many channels and watch delights such as camel racing and iranian x factor LOL.

To get the premium (encrypted) channels you will need a card or more likely go down the road of cs. You will almost certainly have to pay for this albeit less than what a normal subscription would be.

If your gonna get one of the 2 recievers you mention get the tm500 not the dreambox 500, as there are only clone versions of the dreambox 500 around. I have the dreambox 500s and its a load of crap , the box freezes and lots more. I hear the tm 500 is a good box.

I have both boxes the dm500 doesnt drive the motor but that may be down to the install being shicht. once i get round to sorting it (lazy git) i am hoping it will be ok. if not its still a useful toy.

I have the same boxes as you and have the same issues as you. my dm wont drive motor and my tm is excellent
