hi m8, are you sure you bought the correct card reader as im pretty certain that the reader for the 1000 series wont work in the 5000 series. if its the correct reader is the card official or a gamma card?, has it been activated? , as official cards need continuos entitlment updates to stay active and if it has been out of a stb for a while it might need a update. have you got access to a official bulsat receiver to test the card?

does the card reader support the encryption the card is in you dont say what that is, although the TM card reader is multicrypt I dont think it decodes them all.

          I found the problem.
Pach is has to be off and receiver go to update and decode the smart card.
pach is switch off when you press menu then go to system infomation and press 2;0;0;4 button on your remote control.

which type of encryption does the smartcard use?
bulsat uses 3 different types of system.
              irdeto 2,griffin and bulcrypt
if the card is a irdeto one then it should work in the tm slot but if not then you will probably need a dedicated bulsat receiver although im not 100% certain. regards mdt
