Technomate 5000 Series

Hello,

I'm quite new to all this satellite stuff and am looking to upgrade my old Nokia Mediamaster 9600 to a Technomate 5000 model.

The problem is I want to be able to use my TIVUSAT card - at the moment it paritally works with my old Noika box (I have to use a samsung cam to read it).

One of my friends he uses a technomate and just types in some codes every so often and has no need for the card - I was wondering if that might be a better solution if so would the TM-5600 CI USB - 1 CI SLOT or TM-5400 CI+ SUB - 1 CI SLOT & 1 CARD READER be ok and which is better??

Also what does SUB mean? does the 5400 not have USB?

You want the super series versions of these receivers. Latest patch allows the Tivu sat card to be read I believe.

Thanks for the reply - one more thing I had a look at the super series like you recommended but the models don't seem to have a CI slot so I won't be able to use my samsung cam but I guess from what you said before I won't need it if I use the latest patch and I can just use the card directly??

the tm-5400 CI+usb super has both a card slot and ci slot for a cam.
