Can i do anything with my technomate box / dish to receive channels

I have recently lost all the channels on my Technomate 5200 + and im being told that this is due to a THOR problem.

I am new to this but do have some technical abilities and was wondering if there is anything i can do to get the channels back

I have a static dish but would move it if thats whats needed.

Any help would be much appreciated as the set up cost me a few hundred pounds and im hoping it wasnt a waste of money.

hi armo88,welcome to DK,thors not working because its change encryption to nagra 3, and there,s not a lot opened at the moment 13 east,19east and sirius 4.8 east have still got some good channels on them that are still open ,yes your going to have to move your dish,football starts very soon so hopefully alot more channels will become available,

Cheers badboy1965 i have been looking all over the web for answers and your the first person that has actually made any sense - i have now managed to get in contact with the engineer that installed my dish so i will get him to come and move my dish.

Do you know if any of these that are open will have any football on.

I dont think any package that is open thru softcams will have footy. Maybe Diema on 39e. Your best bet is to go down the cs route. This cant be discussed here, Google is your best bet.

Cheers hooley - i think i got an idea what you mean about CS as a friend has a D****box but it probably wouldn't work well for me as the best broadband speed i get is only 1 meg so am hoping to use my current setup ??

i've got technomate 1500 ci and was using 1 west with keys etc ,like you i'm now looking for a way of getting the sport and maybe other option is to buy a years viewing card for tring or digialb i believe both show 3pm kick offs, cards seem to be around ?250,if your not bothered about epl the art cards look like they get a lot of football spl etc.

Seems were in the same boat - its mainly the EPL im after being a man u fan - i spoke to a Sat shop this morning quite local to me and he said the TRING cards start from ?200 - but it wasn't long ago i paid ?300 for my box and dish so am a little reluctant to start spending again ( plus i have also read a few posts across the web that TRING still isn't guaranteed all football ) ???

I have also read that things can change in a month or 2 and we could get it all back as normall ??? - still pretty gutted

i think any solution will end up costing at least a couple of hundred,had satellite for quite a few years now and many packages have gone off and came back but reading posts on this n3 i'm not so hopeful,if i was with bt getting the vision offer of ss1&2 plus espn for ?12 per month would be reasonable.

I'm going to see if i can somehow get the dish moved so i get some channels at least - at the moment its sat there doing nothing and hop that something gets worked out with NAGRA 3 as soon as

will have to go back to dodgy website streaming of matches until something gets sorted.....

Have a google about 39e, I think Softcams for your technomate are still clearing some packages here. Dont hold me to it

cheers guys - going to get onto the guy that installed mine and see if he can pop round and give me a hand moving the dish and see if i get anything

hi armo88,why not try and move your dish yourself its pretty easy,if your dish is pointing at THOR,then move it slowly to the left(presuming you can still see your tv) go into your menu and get the signal strenght and quailty bars on your tv,as you move it to the left the signal will be lost but then you should hit sirius 4.8 east ,its the same for the rest there pretty close together ,i can pick up 4.8 degrees 7.degrees 9.degrees, 13 degrees 16.degrees and 19.degrees 23.degrees and 28.degrees, i live in a block of flats with a 80cm dish on 2 scaff bars and i manually move it to any of these sats,its worth trying and its cheaper than paying if you dont have to, good luck badboy1965

hi armo88 forgot to mention,wait till the footy is on to see whats available so you can move your dish to that sat , if you dont mind paying for legit card tring is doing 2 cards the cheaper 1 is not supposed to have 3 o,clock footy on but the dearer 1 has.

What you currently pointing at - id be happier if i could get something rather than nothing. Forgot to mention, im in Manchester also so hope i get the Man u games sorted.

Phantom has released a patch for the 3000 series to recieve Bulsat on 39e. You might be in luck inthe next few days if he releases a softcam for the 1000 series.
