why will dish only move west?

    hi
i had problems when my sytem was new 3 years ago with dish losing position i have technomate 1500 ci+ and it was installed with usals but kept moving off satellites so for the last couple of years i've just had it fixed at 1 west,in search of new channels i decided to get it moving again and it went to 1 west thru 28 east fine but tonight i tried for 39 east and it got no signal so in the menu i tried moving it east and west and the on screen display was telling me moving east and west but i had my brother watching and he said for east it was going back west and west was going west. so any ideas ? planning to move the dish manualy tomorrow will it just be a matter of a few inches from 28 - 39 east or will it need to be arced down?

Reset motor and make sure the limits are not set in motor menu.

Look underneath your motor, close to the area where your coax plugs in there should be a small hole, use a pin or something similar to press the reset button inside thie hole.

            motorised settings

i have now found the long and lat and they are correct,in the same menu have motor control option which brings up
            go to ref
            delete limit
            enable limit
            set east limit
            set west limit
each is followed by press ok
            what should i do now?

go back to motorised settings and press "delete limit".then in usals go to a sat you can receive ok say 28.2East then go back to the motorised settings menu and drop down to position setting>ok then alter your longitude by 0.2 at a time east or west til you get the highest possible reading in the quality bar then exit and save.then go to satellite setup and press OK twice this will bring a window up with the sats listed scoll to 39E and press the save (yellow button)to put a tick against it.then back to motorised settings make sure 39E is on the top line drop down to "go to">ok and yes to are you sure.12.522H 30000 is a strong active TP.

Unless your dish is misaligned vertically slightly and then that will be of no help. You could be just out of plumb and not following the arc correctly.

no of course the initial install must be correct but if dish/motor are correctly aligned.post #8 will help get 39E for him

hi,thanks for the advice i have followed the steps as above but when i go to 39e the on screen message says going to 39e but it stays on the current satellite 19e or 28e 0r 5e i've tried from all 3. we did adjust the dish ouselves a couple of years ago and again last night so we have probably lost the correct arc,but i've still been able to adjust the other sats for stronger signals but not getting a signal for 39e i think its probably a job for sat engineer as i'm not sure if dish is too small or some other problem.
