just got back into the dish scene after hanging up mu hummy 5400 a couple of years ago. i got the 5402 hd with a 12 mth premium sub and up to now i have to say i am over the moon with it. Things have moved on since i was last playing out with ccam now its a lot more stable than it used to be. Still a few things to play around with. I have just got a test cline from someone and i want to see if i can get it running on a few differnent sats other that 28.2 deg so that should be fun since i got sent an f line as well and i have no idea what to do with that. I dare say i will end up with a dreambox as that seems to be the standard. im still struggling getting any biss keys to work but im sure i will get there. Just thought i would put mu opinion in that the tm5402 hd is a good all round piece of kit in my eyes anyway.

Isn't this box a clone of blade bm7000s box or vice versa?

They are both more or less the same but the TM5402 also comes with an RF output and built in fan and YouTube player on the latest firmware (though some reports this isn't working 100% right now), it's also just slightly different how the firmware and patches are loaded at the moment which means you should never really have to wait around for a third party firmware update to use the CCcam/Newcamd on the Technomate with the latest firmware where as you can be waiting a little for updates on the Blade, but other than these things they are more or less the same machine and both very popular right now!

have fitted a few of these boxes for customers and for the those of you finding it hard with getting your head around linux, i think you will find this box excellent and easy to use for the price : it also works well on CS and has good picture quality compared to some boxes

Anyone tried 1149 in "game" directory. Supposed to let you into all new free streaming servers?

Thanks for comming back I was wondering if there was a problem with the 5402 storing the softcams.Anyhow have put them back in again and switched off a couple of times and it seems to be holding them now, maybe I was having a brain fart yesterday.
                          Cheers
                          Bob

                            Hi folks,

Anyone know of any way to get the EPG to load up and save onto the receiver without having to keep going onto the background audio channel?

Also, if I do get the EPG to populate via the background audio radio channel and then put the box into standby it will then loose all data that was captured.

Anyone see an addon or patch to auto download and save the EPG?

                            Cheers,
                            mcquaim

                              Hi guys,

I just bought myself a brand new TM-5402 HD receiver. I don't have much experience with satellite receivers in general, but I get the impression that the hardware is much more potent than the software allows. Isn't there some form of alternative firmware for these devices?
