TM6800 remote

Hi Guys. My remote control is intermittent I think an ingress of moisture.

I cant get a TM remote here locally but I have tried the Universal type. Metronic and Silver Crest.
However I cant get them to capture the existing remotes 4 digit code.

Both replacement remotes search and give the indication everything is ok but still no joy!

The Metronic says the TM code is 4143 but entering that
doesn't work either.

Any tips?

if you havent had any luck yet try Creative Satellite UK - International - Digital Receivers, Technomate, SKY Digital, Starview, The Box, SKY Italia, LCD Wall brackets , Plasma brackets I think they ship outside uk.

Thanks for all the replies.

Its still a mystery to me that I have three of these Universal remotes but none can capture the TM remote code.

I emailed TM but did not get a reply. Metronic replied saying perhaps the TM6800 was manufactured after the Metronic remotes manufactured date.

Anyway the current situation is that if I leave it on top of the TM getting a little heat then all the buttons function.

Leaving it lying on the table then the USB Info and exit buttons dont work.

if you are careful you may be able to open the handset and clean it with a cloth moistened with meths but make sure the buttons are facing down so they dont all fall out although they will have to come out as its the holes that get gummed up if you still have your instructions book just follow the handset picture to re assemble,I"ve done it with sky handsets successfully but havent found out how to get into the TM ones as havent needed to yet.

Dick B. Opened the remote with an knife. There does not seem to be any slot for opening this. The top comes off minus a couple of plastic clips. However it goes back on ok.

Keys seem to be free but cleaned the PCB and rubber mask.

Its working at this time.

Manic. My Metronic leaflet says Technomate codes are all 4 digit starting with a 4. The Silvercrest says all sat codes start with a 5.

Tries the 0606 without any success. I will get another TM remote when back in the UK early February.

That code works ok on my universal remote.
