    TM6800HD diseqc problem.

I have been running My TM5500 CPI for many years using Trex and currently Diablo cam 2. with a 36v positioner. I have recently acquired a second hand TM6800HD, and used my 5500 as a positioner for it. I have installed patch 702p, updated the Cas and everything is opening successfully. Diablo cam 2 also works ok. Now the problem. I have installed a new TM2300 positioner to drive my 1m. dish, and can find satellites with it using the 6800 but am unable to successfully save positions using Diseqc 1.2. I have to use the drive motor function each time. I am wondering if I need to do a factory reset before saving my positions. Any help appreciated.

    hello mate,
had a struggle reading your post with the black font, but I think I got the gist of it.there should not be any probs saveing position on diseqc 1.2.menu>motorised settings>">diseqc motor=1.2 then the move buttons for max signal then drop to save line>ok and yes to the settings were changed.
have you tried setting up with usals it works fine with that box and motor.

      Thanks Dick.

Many thanks for the instructions Dick. They filled in a few gaps in my knowledge. Ill finish my dish alignment on the next fine day, Sorry about the black text, result of copying from Word. At the moment I am happily watching 39E. I have not tried Urals yet as the dish still needs tweaking. should I do a factory reset as my second hand 6800 will drive the dish but not save the positions. I wonder if this is because the 6800 was previously set up with a different positioner. To a long standing 36v man disecq seems clever, but needs understanding. Thanks again.

yeah you need to wipe the other blokes settings if you align your dish as outlined for usals all the other sats will fall into place. on diseqc 1.2 you will either have to find each sat individually and store/save them as you find them or once you have usals set up you can find the sat that way then switch to diseqc1.2 and store the position.it should overwrite the existing one.
if you do a factory re-set store your channel info on a usb stick 1st or in the factory re-set menu "save as default">ok do this twice. then you can restore these as the default channels.I put my channel list on stick>usb>upload channel and store on my computer to make sure I dont have to start again.
