Just got my TM800 back - Good News / Bad news :-(

Good News.

Parcel Force have just dropped off my TM800, thanks Technomate, really fast turn around, great service and they even included ?8 in the box

More Good News.

They've sent me a brand new unit, all the little scuff marks etc are gone and it's nice and shiny.

Bad News.

Where is my Wifi and HDD?

They've taken my box, not checked to see that it still had the Wifi and HDD fitted and sent me a basic factory unit!

They've also kept my receipt.

CPU Revision is 1.0.1 so I reckon this is either a refurbished unit or one straight off the production line.

It'll be for sale as soon as i get my HDD and Wifi returned - You interested

interesting, I thought they jtag the receiver you send them and they send the same unit back.
So they are replacing units on the sly..to cover up some major hardware issues with early recievers ??
Or maybe its faster to send out ready jtagged refurbished units and keep the ones sent back for later refurbishments...

I reckon everyone that returned their unit during the initial recall (early December) received their own unit back after having been jtagged. Seems they have taken delivery of the newer hardware and are just shipping these to save time.

To be honest, I'd have been quite happy to have my old hardware returned to me as - apart from the known issues, it was actually pretty stable in relation to some of the horror stories that I've read on the net.

Plus I'd have my wifi and HDD,

If someone can tell me he hardware Rev of the new hardware, I'll open it up and have a peek to confirm.

"I think its the 9/1/11 backup image m8, as when i spoke to TM a few weeks ago, they said that to date, that is the best image theyve seen for their linux receivers due to the addons all pre installed etc

It'd be even better if the rest of the actual image itself worked though "
