    technomate or DB

    Hi All,
Have been using DB500 for some time now with good results.
However because supplies can be slow at times I am considering
trying the technomate 5000 as a replacement. I know one advantage is that the TM has a modulator in-built.
    Any comments or advise appreciated.

    Philly.

depends what youre expecting i have a 6902+7100 working fine on cccam the 5402hd is pretty much the same, very easy to use
But you can't share out (client only).
Supported mostly by tm users and regular firmware updated's
The tm5402HD can record 3 channels and watch a 4th only when all on the same transponder(frequency),not any channel.
and it has a divixplayer for your avi files.
The tm5402HD is the latest model of the 5000 series

I have both boxes the TM5402HD is an idiot proof machine you can upto now only use it as a client box, picture and sound are both excellent, very easy to set up, I personally can not fault it, main menus are pass coded so (my) kids carnt mess with it and knacker it up (I have lost count on how many times i've had to re-flash the dm500 because the kids have messed it up, thankfully that now in the bedroom)

If your after much much more then either go for a DM800 or a spiderbox, both have some amazing features and are well supported.

All depends on what your after and what your budget is.

Thanks a lot guys for your response.
I intend to use TM's as client boxes only. My supplier for DB can sometimes be erratic with supplies. I normally order 10 / 20 units at a time but if he is out of stock it could take 4 weeks for next delivery which can be a bit of an inconvenience. I have no problem with the DB 500. As TM are distributed from the UK it should be more reliable for delivery's.

No I am not a trader of any sorts.
Just a legitimate TV network guy for almost 30 years with land line and trading address. The fact that I buy 20 + units
should not raise suspicion. It just shows how busy I am.
