technomate 500 channels scrambled

had a technomate 500 for about a month now sometimes it clears all channels and sometimes for a couple of days it will get only fta channels and then work fine again, my internet is permanantly on so i am assuming its the server, i never set this up so could someone tell me where on the machine to check the server details. many thanks all
