    TM-800 HD ? Linux High-Definition

      TM8000 has slots for two tuners, this allows you to view one channel and record another, the TM800 can't do this - unless you view a channel on the same transponder.

      TM8000 can accept a hard drive for PVR by plugging the drive into a panel on the front, the TM800 needs the HDD installed internally, although external drives can be plugged into the Front and Rear external USB slots.

      The TM8000 is more or less plug and play, where as the TM800 isn't.

      If you just want to watch HDTV as easily as possible then go for the TM8000.

      If you want to open a whole new world, with lot's of interesting toys to play with then go for he TM800 Linux box.

      Both boxes allow card sharing, if that matters to you.
