    Vu+DuoV2 Kernel 3.11 Vix 2.4 build 155 < issue

    I have a Vu+Duo v2 with Vix 2.4.155 image (kernel 3.11)
Internal harddrive of 500gb (old Sky HD for record and timeshift)
External Harddrive of 2TB as Media Player via the box (also for XBMC on PC)
    USB for Picons and EPG
    CCCam 2.3.0_1.0, mgcamd 1.35a_1.0-r3 and Oscam 1.00.5953_1.0
WebInterface and OpenWebIf addon (for channel access and stream)
Original Power cable as well as Sky power cable (both works)

When I updated the image to any build higher than 155, the box didnt want to start, it stayed at Starting...

    151 - OK
    155 - OK
    158 - KO
    164 - KO
    165 - KO

I had to test all the builds to find out this root cause but it all started when I was watching a channel, the box rebootedby itself, then few minutes later and so on.
I have then updated to the latest build, 171 (I believe) from the box itself (which also rebooted in the middle) and from there, it didnt want to restart at all, even after few tries on rebooting

My question to you guys, have you had the same issue if so, is it a known one and is there a fix for it rather than go back to build 155?

Maybe the new build have an update (like fan or tunner) not compatible with v2 boxes?

Thanks in advance for your comments!

    Regards

Its more than likely due to the new Drivers released by VU and now implemented in both the latest Vix image builds and the latest BH 1.7.6

It's looking more and more likely you will have to wait until thses are patched before using any other upgraded image with the latest drivers.

Instead of keep banging your head again'st a wall trying to get the later version of Vix running why not try one of the many images available, Blackhole, OpenPLI, VTI, HDF-Team, Open AAF, Sift Team etc...

Most are already based on OpenPLI some are based on BH take your pick

Sure, Ill try a different image but isnt this problem also occuring in other images like you said BH also is affected?

How to know which one (and which build) will work for clone Vu+Duos?

          Thanks!

The only image with the latest Drivers inside on Blackhole is 1.7.6 so use 1.7.5 and under and you will be OK

As long as its externally powered as well should not be a problem

I am thinking that this restarting issue might not be related to the version not build of Vix
I have now also tested with Vix 2.3 build 204 and same issue

When flashing all goes well, then when watching a channel, box restarts and sometimes, the box wont start at all, just keep saying Starting...

Maybe a faulty fan or else?

                      What do you guys think?

Everybody, there will be a new IC update by Ferrari team around end of august
For now use version and build prior to the new driver update
So vix 2.4 until build 155 and BH 1.7.5
