So would you recommend the duo from mixeshop or nextbay?

Do they come flashed with an image?

How hard would this be to do?

I've got a DM800 HD and I got with an image..
id go with nextbay before mixeshop personally, the box comes pre-flashed with blackhole image and is easy to update via usb.. if you re-flash your box read the tuts before doing it and check if the box is a V2 which it should be,regards mdt

Anyways, for those who ordered from next bay and other Chinese websites. DID YOU PAY ANY TAX OR VAT WHEN YOU RECEIVED YOUR ITEMS and if so how much was it !!!

Thanx guys and enjoy watching ;D

I ve bought about 3 in all and have not had to pay any tax or duty howevere from experience, it normally takes a few weeks or month before you invoice to pay for that.

Hi there, I am currently using a dreambox DM800 HD PVR. It has only one tuner so I cannot watch another channel while recording. I am looking for another box, mainly to watch another channel while recording one. Also it is a bit sluggish. I understand that VU+ DUO has 2 tuner. Could someone confirm that we can watch a different channel while watching one with this? I cannot see it mentioned explicitly anywhere. Also I see this video out put is 1080i. Is there any other box which delivers 1080p quality? Also could anyone suggest which is the best box? ANy other suggestions.? I hear that VU is very good.

Yes, as long as you have 2 feeds you can watch one and record another. I would recommend against a clone, having owned one.
I now have a vu+ solo2. Difference in build quality, etc is glaringly obvious.

Thank you very much for the reply. Regarding the clone, apart from the build and the looks, any issues with respect to working..? And have u tried any other boxes..? or have any other recomendation?

Vu+ duo clones had issues with psu. I had 1 blow up and the other refused to drive my motor.
An original vu+ duo can be had for around ?240 from germany now, or you could get an uno and stick the twin tuner in there at a later date.
I would personally recommend the vu+ solo2, but this is not cheap at ?300.
But it is currently the fastest stb out there. And hopefully all the extra processor power will be put to good use in the future.

Thank you for your reply. My requirements are, twin tuner and preferably 1080p resolution. I do not think, I will play around with it more than that. I use a jailboroken Apple TV with FTV flash as my media centre (I love it)
