    2 HD recordings at once

    Hello which hard drives can handle recording two hd channels at once? i have a western usb powered 5400rpm one and it can handle 2 sd channels or 1 hd but not two hd channels at once. Any models adivised welcomed please? thanks Killer

    Never heard of that one b4 m8, I can record multiple HD channels at once with an internal drive.

      speed limitations of USB is most likely the cause, consider an internal Hard Drive

        Is it a clone ?, does it have it's own power supply ?,
        might need its own power supply, just a guess :-)

          are usb powered hard drives not as good as a usb mains powered hard drive then?

            no,a powered hard drive is better than a usb powered as there are limits to what it can do.
