    Signal loss and box freezing

Hi I'm a proud owner but ignorant.

Need help setting up Vu+Duo. At present it looses the signal alot (weather?) and when this happens the whole box freezes... no chance of watching what we have recorded on the hard disc...... Any way to resolves this? Thanks in advance.

The first thing to do would be to check the dish is aligned properly and then if still causing problems check the lnb and the cable connections.

      Checked.... good strength signal

Its the problem of the set jumping to the starting position and locking up until switched off and restarted.... if the signal can be obtained again. Until this is done you can not watch any recorded material. This is the real bugbear.

Why would you associate losing signal to weather? Then your signal is good. If your dish is fine and your connections are fine and you are losing signal then you may have a faulty tuner on box. Either that or your box image is corrupt and you will have to do a reflash. I don't know what you mean by set jumping to the starting position and locking up
