    What box please...

I am pretty new to this although i used to do dreamboxes 8 years ago till i moved to Spain. My question has no doubt been asked before but i cannot find a definitive answer..
Which box should i go for I understand that the VU+ Duo are pretty good but how good are the clones of them? are they reliable or do they have problems?
And do they work as well as the originals.
If i cannot pick up a good priced VU+ what other twin tuner box is worth a look at.or any of these.Skybox F3 or F5, icloud, alien 2 with the dual boot or one of the many others i wont go into as money is an issue here..
    Thanks for any Advice guys..

If you specify a Budget and what you expect from the receiver you will get a more detailed reply

I Live in Spain and we are about to loose all our English TV With the new satellite changes so i figure maybe i should take a look at Sly as their stuff is staying on European beam. Where as it looks like everything else is going to go UK Beam which we will loose. (believe me this isn't going down too well with the wife) I am retired through ill health (worse this year) so we are pretty much on the bread line so once I have bought this box that's it for me. no more money to throw at it. which makes me think maybe i should splash out now on say a VU+ Solo2 / VU+Duo or something even though I really can't afford it now but hopefully good for far into the future. We have internet but it's crap with no likely hood of it getting any better so there won't be much internet happening this is just to get channels with a little bit of internet. So what do you suggest I do I would like it to be twin tuner and PVR. But without ongoing bill's as we don't have the money....

The Vu Solo2 if you can stretch to it would be a good bet

see if you can receive 27.5 west... unfortuneatly what with the tighter footprints and the new id methods you will struggle unless you get an official box/card which as you know are daylight robbery.. there are bbc channels available in other packages and there is bbc prime on 9east which is about ?85 a year as a last resort for the missus, regards mdt

              Thanks Digicon

Will our crap internet stop it from working with sly stuff? or is it ok and doesn't need to move much data. we wont be doing any streaming or anything like that.... What do you reckon to the Alien 2 box by Amiko?

@mdt we will get Sky on 28degrees fine they aren't changing so there is no problem getting sky signal.

Its not so much the speed its the quality of the line and your ping speed from yourself to the other person that counts

Anything Under 80ms would be good you could possibly go to around 120ms but expect some problems

Well i took you advice and ordered one hopefully this will sort things out for me.. Best do a bit of reading up now as it's a long time since i messed with these type of boxes. Having read a few things on various forums i think i am going to install a saved image first to look at what is on offer .although i do realise that everyone is expecting Sly to be changing things shortly. thanks for the help
