Hi guys. I can get my hands on a solo2 clone at about ?100 less than the original. Anyone had any bad experiences with the clone so far? I have seen a couple of folk mention them and the reviews seem pretty positive

They are too new at the moment to know if they will have any problems but if you can I would always try and get a genuine solo 2 which can be had for ?279.
I appreciate that people's budget will not extend that far but there's a lot more support on genuine boxes in case it goes wrong. -
Just ordered a clone myself, waiting for it to arrive. I can get my hands on them for around ?153 including shipping. I have contacted a few other suppliers and they are selling for around ?188 including shipping etc.
(If anyone wants details please send me a PM).
After reading on other forums, it seems that the clones are good quality. There's no real answer as to who manufactures or provides support for the clones yet, but the clones themselves are good quality. Been speaking to someone who has both an Original and Clone who mentions that there is no difference what so over between them both.
I have a DM800se clone that will be replacing it. Never had issues with the DM800se clone apart from the odd lock up etc, but the pure speed and power of the Solo2 Clone is when I thought its time to upgrade now.Last edited by Mr S; 22 December, 2013, 16:19.Comment

just took a risk ordered vu hd solo 2 from mixeshop. Was thinking of getting original but thought have play around with a clone receiver. Have had several dm800se hd of them in past and found them to be working ok. Mind you I do not load many plugings just basic uk channel list with epg.Comment

The reports so far are these don't appear to be your usual shoddy 1st gen clones. In real world usage a lot of people have had a job trying to tell the original and clones apart.
Ultimately genuine is genuine and you cannot condone buying otherwise. However @ ?153 shipped a lot of people will knowingly buy the clones no matter what.Last edited by ekkostar; 5 January, 2014, 22:17.Comment

?153 shipped for a solo2 clone is very tempting... I have solo2 original but wouldn't mind a solo 2 clone to mess around with. I will wait to see how these go in the long run though before purchasing - prices might even come down as well as new revisions - besides, i don't think i have any spare satellite feeds.
Using old images shouldn't really be a problem, unless the new drivers are bringing more functionality out of the solo2 hardware, in which case you'd have to weigh things up.Comment

So you didn't know what you were doing and blamed it on the box and supplier? Here is what happened to me and my clone.

Most people who own the solo2 clone are more than happy with it. The only real issue at the mo is nobody knows if there will be ongoing support for this box in terms of updates to get around the current problem if having to use pre December images.
I've ordered a solo2 clone which should be with me in a few days time so will report back.Comment

You are right. I didn't have a clue.
Got the hang of it now and love it. .. The only gripe I have is that I cannot get my one for all remote to work with it properly as the vu+ code doesn't work with clone remotes!
I have used the learn feature which works to an extent but it won't accept repeat commands i.e. I can only go up one channel then it won't go up another unless I press another key first then go up a channel etc..etc . Very annoying.

Just a heads up people i believe that sometime in March Ferrari team are releasing there version of the Solo2 Clone obviously it will have a Ferrari chip inside, I know support from the Ferrari boys can be hit and miss but at least what support there is there should be a whole lot better than who ever supports these batch of Solo2's at the moment in fact it seems to be non existent.
Anybody thinking about one may be wise to wait and see if ferrrari can support there own model as they do with there other clone models Solo,Uno and the Duo
Just a little Food for thought
