you dont have to have a password setup on samba i leave mine blank so i wont have a problem trying to remember, samba allows box to be seen in your network,if you have stuff in recordings you want blocked then you will have to fill in details [password] and save them +write down and add it to sat manual so you know where it is
trying to remember go through your samba setup as it should ask if you want to use password say yes and fill in details.
from another box you would need the password to enter into the hdd of said box.

It was just because there's about 20 users on the same network, I don't care if anyone views the recordings just not be able to delete them. Set to read only so that's done the trick.

A while ago I did try installing the firewall from feeds but it failed. If you have any idea how to set that up I'd be grateful

      Cheers
