      What image were you using and what one did you change to as cactikid says it may be C807 capacitor. If your confident on soldering I could upload some pics for you. Keep it off just now as you may get away with just the C807 fix and don't have to do the regulator. There are other capacitors that can be changed on top of the others for the signal fix which may or may not follow soon.

            I was asking about image as I wanted to know if you had ever done the cfe update for larger images. Anyway I'll assume you did this way back so here's a photo of board and position of C807 capacitor and other capacitors that may need replaced now or eventually. 2nd photo is not exact place underneath board but is how the solder job should look when done although that's factory done. Capacitors have a positive and negative end also when taken out you will see negative side on board too as well as the capacitor. Some folk just cut and solder at the legs I prefer to do it properly. Replace capacitor with good one like panasonic for instance. If that don't work you may need to replace regulator next to it. hth

                If it is an old box you might need to flash a newer bootloader to accommodate a bigger image. The latest one came out Feb 16 2015.

                      Hi sorry didn't reply earlier was on golfing holiday with mates.

                      This is for information purpose only anything you do or try will be at your own risk. {Working with electrical products can be dangerous}
                      Also not everyone is a competent solderer. Not saying you aren't.

                      So you updated the cfe then image and starting message began.
                      Maybe it didn't work and you could try another usb first. It's aways possible it was down to something easy or something missed.
                      You replaced the C807 capacitor it still won't work was it done correctly and what reading did you get from the removed capacitor? I have to ask so don't take offence.
                      You said you checked the other capacitors and they seemed to be ok?
                      Maybe the U801 regulator needs replaced? Most times these two together fix the said starting problem.
                      Can you have a look at the capacitors on the psu? Any bulging? They don't always. This can be a problem with starting too.
                      With electricity off take cover off the duo then plug back in and turn on. Get a hair dryer and heat over the capacitors till warm about six inches away on the PSU first to see if it will start. If not then go over to where the C807 is and heat the capacitors there till warm and see if it wants to start. This will take a minute or two. hth

                        Did you try reflashing the original working image?

                          Here's a photo of Psu where some or all of these may need replaced.
