if your using a pli based image then there may be two satellites.xml files in the image as i will detail below
The image comes with a built-in satellites.xml, located in etc/tuxbox. This is a system-file and is updated when a online update of the image is carried out.
You can also use a customised satellites.xml, placed in etc/enigma2. If one is available here, it takes priority over the system-file in etc/tuxbox. If this one is messed up, it can be deleted and the system-file will take over immediately (after an E2-restart).
now i would recommend you use the following site to obtain your satellites.xml files as unlike others it allows you to highly customise the file you generate.
for example you can choose to only include active working transponders which will rapidly increase the scan speed and in cases decrease the files size it self by half with no loss of channels found when a scan is made. you can also choose to include only transponders for C band or KU band or both if thats what you want. give it a go you will be surprised how much better it performs without all those dead or inactive transponders removed from your file especially if you scan 16 east which is known as a very slow satellite to scan with traditional satellites.xml files.Code:http://satellites-xml.org/

Hi. I have a clone duo and use blachole or vix image.
I use catseyes bouquets and every now and then just download the latest bouquet and copy and paste the channels I watch over to the saved, edited bouquet on my pc.
Do I still have to update the satellites. Xml file.
My understanding is that you have to do a scan after replacing the xml file. But as I use premade bouquets I never scan.
Any help?Comment
