    Vix 2.4

Installed on my Ultimo, flashed no probs, as has every other Vix image :-), unfortunately this time my Imac was unable to copy files back and from certain folders on the Ultimo, using an FTP client it worked ok, using the password root, and also this as a username :-).
Enabling AFS I was still unable to copy across to certain folders, permission denied :-(, also ran into a wee problems with my VFD icons not working, all files etc in right place :-(, for now I have reverted back to 2.3 as it was rock solid with me and worked a treat.
Big thumbs up to the Vix team though, but I'll await the next release, cheers anyway guys :-)

    Hi dell_xcps,

Not sure if you know but there was an online update last night which took the build number from 96 to 101, might be worthwhile trying it again to see if your problems have been resolved?

108 should be going live later on this evening but it will be set to unstable as it's a major update after merging the PLI git with ViX. so if you have unstable downloads set to yes make a backup first, although i have it running on my boxes and so far it's fine.

      2.4 Build 108:
      enigma2: EPGSelection: fix posible BSOD.
      enigma2: HelpMenu: fix posible BSOD.
openwebif: add new ViX setting menu to Menu Panel (still needs work).
      picons: update zonka.cc to 2012-05-17
vix-skins: update transponder info for new PliExtraInfo, fix simple channelselection screen title.
system: merge from PLi 18-05-2012 - this includes Linux 3.3 for ET's.

well we did not publish 108 as it was a major update durectly after a GIT merge with pli and a kernel upgrade for the Xtrends. were now testing 111 so there should be a new release soon.

also dell i know you said you enabled AFP also try enabling samba.

you can keep upto date will all OpenViX developments via this assembla page.

          Hi RD,

Did wonder what happened to 108 as I have my update set to include unstable downloads and I had no blinking icon this morning!

          Looking forward to 111.

yes even though ViX is now Open we still try to limit as much instability as possible in the images we push to the OpenViX servers, we could push every build we make but it would result in a lot of hassle so we still test to ensure it's stable enough to release as possible without having to go through months of testing again as we previously have had to do. although i will say it worked out well for the release of 2.4 even if i'm am tooting my own horn.

              Hi RD,

Keep tooting, 2.4 is a great image! Well done to you and the others involved!

The OpenViX feeds are updating rite now, give it a hour or so as andy has a piss slow internet connection and has to manually upload all the images which is slow going.

To all ViX users, please note that an online update will be online this evening updating to build 111. This update is largely un-tested therefore would all users please backup their images prior to updating. To update to 111 you will need to enable unstable updates. Menu > Setup > System > Online update > Set allow unstable updates to YES.

If you do not wish to use or risk unstable updates please wait until the stability icon @ www.openvix.co.uk is green for stable again.

All Xtrend receivers have been updated to linux kernel 3.3, although an online update should be ok we strongly advise to re-flash if you expriance any issues.

Image build 111 will be online avaialbe @ www.openvix.co.uk

                        Hi Guys,

Have to agree with RD here, 2.4 is a superb image. I'm sure there will be one or two little changes that might take time to get used to, but it's rock solid and I'm impressed so far.
