    Vu Duo Clone Remote Control?

Did a quick search and couldn't find an answer so here goes. Can a clone Duo remote be programmed to control some functions of the TV? My dm800se clone remote for example can work my Panasonic plasma, so I can put the TV into standby, volume, change source etc...

I know that an original Solo and maybe even the Duos ship with a remote that now has a TV button top left (older remotes had a Mute there) so that you can control some functions of the TV but am wondering what remote the clones ship with?

I've had a look at pics of the remote that comes with the clones and it looks like they can't control the TV except via HDMI-CEC.

as far as i'm aware the remote shipped with the clones is a copy of the old remote's and not the new universal ones Vu ship with their boxes. if thats the case then no they can not control a TV.

Yep, looking around the Duo originals also seem to be a mix of what they ship with unless the sites haven't bothered to update their product pictures.

likely older stock as all now ship with a universal remote, even the ultimo remote, which i think is pap to be honest is a universal type.

I've noticed that amazon.de have the vu duos for around 300 Euros which works out at around ?245, are these likely to be originals or clones? Can't quite decide although the pics have the back of the Duo as all black.

sounds about rite for a original from germany considering the very strong pound to the weak euro.

So, can an new 'universal' Vu Duo remote be used with a clone and more importantly to control basic TV functions? If so, can some post a link to one of these please.

                Thanks.
