    ViX 2.4 on v2 clone

Is it safe to put v2.4 onto a v2 clone? I've seen reports of people using v2.3 and wanted to know which version I could or should use.

    Thanks.

        Thanks.

you can use any version you want as the V2 clones already have the security update done at the factory. regards mdt

if you have a suspect clone duo ,will it do more harm flashing them in relation to the psu problem?

There is nothing in the ViX image that would do any harm to a clone providing you have a receiver that has already been updated, which the V2's have.

So much for sticking with Blackhole for the time being but boy is it unfamiliar, I can't even figure out how to install cccam and mgcamd.

I've always used Open PLi on my dm800se, so might flash VIX on there right now.

I've got one other problem, the TV that I've connected the clone to doesn't have HDMI, so I'm using SCART but when I set the clone to SCART and RGB I get a much better picture but it's green whereas this setting on my dm800se would result in a crystal clear picture. Using the same SCART cable and same SCART socket on the TV so the only diff is the box, any ideas?

Is it on 60hz ?, try 50hz, menu av settings m8, just a complete guess btw,
                  always used an hdmi lead.

Tried a different SCART cable and no diff.

Reading around it looks like there was fix for in later images, wife is watching TV at the mo so will try the latest VIX image later.

Has anybody tried putting an OpenPLi nightly build on their clone?

Also, I now agree with others, the fan on the box is according to my son, "like a truck". I'm going to search through my fan stash to see if I've got anything quieter.

I tried the Pli images, tried the Blackhole, the VTI the AAF, italysat, POD etc etc etc and I keep coming back to vix. Stick the latest vix on do the updates and you wont be dissapointed. Only thing that annoys about the Vix image is you have to adjust the OSD position at the start. Never had to do that before

Put the latest Vix, tried swapping SCART cables and still no joy. I either get crap PQ setting SCART to CVBS-S or get great PQ buts it's green when set to RGB.

I've also noticed that when zapping through channel the picture doesn't clear, get a black screen but restart the box and the picture will be there.

The remote is also very directional so point it at the box or else.

Have to admit I had an itch for a dual tuner box for ages but so far I've been totally underwhelmed by it.
