    VU Duo & Motorised dish

I have a problem that's been frustrating me for a few days.

I have set up a motorised dish and have gone to the sat finder on the VIX menu and the dish can lock onto all of the different satelites (I presume it only says that it locked onto the correct satellite?).

I know the dish is pointing in the right direction as I have been able to view Sly UK on it.

The problem I have, is that when I go to automatic scan, it does not seem to find channels on any other satellite apart from sky

I have a MrMister Bouquet but when I go to the EPG on this, there is either a black screen on any not on 28.2E or the channel titles all say n/a. When I attempt to zap to one, I get the message "Service Unavailable, Check Tuner Configuration"

I'm using a dark motor for movement and a triax TD88 dish. I have a line for all european sats and have mate dure latitude and longitude are correct.

Please can someone help before I tear my hair out??

have you ticked the satellites in the menu to tell the reciever which satellites you want to scan? regards mdt

Dont have a motor setup, but have you scanned the channels on the different sats ?

Is that Menu>Setup>ServiceSearching>ManualScan and multisat on the correct tuner, if so, yes.

it's a clone but seems to be moving the motor without a problem

I've tried that and get the message "Scan complete, no services found

In the dim and distant past (ie before hardware issues) mine seemed to move the motor OK but had similar issue as you.
May be its not moving it to quite the right loc.
It caused me some issues when I tried to set this up with Blackhole.

There are issues with clones with weak PSUs having problems with the motor moving to the right loc.
IIRC Have to set it to Goto 0 then move again as a workaround.

It seems to move it ok and when I do the sat finder option, it locks onto all of the channels, it just won't find any of the services.

It may be a big presumption, but I presume it's not going to say it's locked onto a different satellite i.e. Not locking onto Astra when it should be Eutelsat?

It could do as some TP frequency's are used on other sats as well so you could go into the satfinder option and pick a TP that is used on both astra 28 and 13 east, only one way for sure pick a TP frequency that is used on that satellite only.

it's because your using a bouquet that only has transponder details for 28.2 east in it's satellites.xml file ( MR. Misters bouquet is for 28.2 east only ).

                  go here.
                  Code:
                  http://satellites-xml.org/
generate a new satellites.xml file which includes all satellites you want to receive. select the between limits tab if you dont use C band then select KU band only and select only active transponders. once done FTP the new file etc/enigma2 on your receiver then do a restart so the file takes hold.

Thanks, but that wasn't it, I have bouquets with all of the channels in.

All of the satellites lock on when I go to sat finder but when I try to tune to a channel (BBC World on 0.8W for instance) i get the flashing satellite dish and then nothing, or tune failed.

It won't be long before the whole lot of it finds it's way to ebay at this rate

youve probably tried this already but drive your dish to zero re-enter your lat/long then re-boot your box.. now send your dish to say film4 on 28.2e and see what happens. regards mdt

                        Thanks

I've pretty much tried everything. I've tuned it into 0.8w 28.2E and have so far only managed to pick up one German channel.

I've tested the arc and everything goes to between 0 and -2 on a sat finder, so I know the dish and LNB are picking it up. I've tried resetting it to zero.

When searching for the satellites on the box it picks them on a single pass through, locking onto them all. If I exit and try again it then fails to pick them up, even though the dish is moving to the correct position.

On the odd occasion, I've pressed to record one channel and the dish has moved to pick up the sky satellite and let me watch it. Once it moves away and back again, it doesn't pick up.

All in all I think there is more a problem with the box as opposed to the dish / motor, but then I suppose that's the risk you take with a clone.

Next time I'll get a genuine ultimo!
