VU+ duo, has arrived

Hello folks, my vu+duo arrived this morning.The manual is easy to read, all in English, unlike a lot of instruction books that weigh a ton and have about ten languages. I received my delivery notification by phone at 2.30 am, believe it or not. The only concern i had was that it may be the charcoal colour it looks when advertised,its black, so it matches the rest of my stuff. Going to spend a few days getting used to it, then i will proceed a step at a time (with your help) adding what i can to it. First off how and what do i need to add noobroom. I have until the 18th of august to get used to it. So fingers crossed.

i would recommend installing 1channel plugin as its brillant

To start with i been having a wee futer with it. I have free sat, so i expected to run set up wizard and so get the free sat channels but i didn't, the sat signal is 28.2 isn't it? think this set at 19.2 and it is the astra satellite. What, if anything am i doing wrong.Also how do i load plug ins, 1channel is 1 thing i was lookin forward to. Thanks chaps.

to put the plugin in i did it manually which you need vu+ control centre (which iam sure is on this forum somewhere) click ftp tab on left onced connect with ip of the box (can be found in setup >network on the box) File goes into usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/ then restart your box, go to plugins you will then find your 1channel plugin enjoy

look closely at the sat you want to scan as you may need to highlight it and use your arrows to go to the next on list it should say 28.2 is the usual sky dish channels.

So i can assume i can pick up free sat, what about the bbc txt or am i startin to take the piss. I gonna go back to start, do it all over again. There's a lot to learn. Glad i took your advice god knows how i would have coped with anything more complicated, not that this isn't. Can't get over phone riging in middle of the night. Thought someone died.

Yea fixed dish thank god. The only thing in it is the hdd vix firmware, as well as the gremlins inside it who are pissin themselves laughin at me. I'll install 1 image at a time , which is the the first 1 i should start with? I would like 1channel and noobroom.com. but only after more important ones installed first.By then i might know what I'm doing. Thanks for your reply.

If it's vix then menu-plugins-download plugins-extensions-1channel. Keep the image you've got till you get used to operating box.

i thought you said it was coming with latest vix image and 500gb hdd installed,therefore you should be on latest.images are like vix black hole,pli ,etc etc,others are like extras plugins,addons etc.dont start using usb to flash box until it 100% sure its needed.

I believe you can record 3 programs provided they are from the same transponder. You have two tuners on the Vu+ Duo.
The rest is maths
