VU+ duo, has arrived

i thought you said it was coming with latest vix image and 500gb hdd installed,therefore you should be on latest.images are like vix black hole,pli ,etc etc,others are like extras plugins,addons etc.dont start using usb to flash box until it 100% sure its needed.

It has vix installed in it that was the only box i ticked when ordering it, apart from getting the 500gb hdd. Whether its the latest or not i ain't sure, maybe someone knows. I haven't had a chance to-day but i am going back to the start to-morrow and go back to the beginning and i might just keep doing that till i become familiar with it. I want to put plugins and other things into it but only the safest and best.

to put the plugin in i did it manually which you need vu+ control centre (which iam sure is on this forum somewhere) click ftp tab on left onced connect with ip of the box (can be found in setup >network on the box) File goes into usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/ then restart your box, go to plugins you will then find your 1channel plugin enjoy

I believe you can record 3 programs provided they are from the same transponder. You have two tuners on the Vu+ Duo.
The rest is maths

And a whole lot more from a fully maxed out Ultimo

how do you know which channels are on same transponder do you mean like sky sports 1 and sky movies on 28.2

Well folks i had another go at trying to find my way around vu+ duo, to-day i installed the various plugins i think might be useful. 1channel is very impressive. The one problem persisting is my inability to pickup the free view or free sat channels. As far as i can tell i have the tuner set at 28.2 astra sat. But i still fail to pick up a single channel. Is there a chance of any of you posting a txt or screen shot as to how this should actually appear, before i click the ok button. over an hour and not a channel has appeared. I have the latest vix as well as the latest updates installed. HELP

you have the 2 sat cables attached into both tuners?and connected onto lnbs also,you did get a manual,did you use the wizard to configure sat connection,page 20.dont have screen grabber.

Have you set configure to single > simple > 28.2? And does the dish work with another box connected?
Did you see it scan for channels and start to list them? Set both tuners to same settings as dish is fixed.

Both left n right connected out back n in doors. easy to check n change cables outside cuz its head height. Though last night and to-day the free sat box been loosing channels. Possible water got into lnb, rain was pretty heavy this morning. Gonna change lnb to-morrow. Just to be sure ( sound like a mick then, oh i am 1) Tuner A and tuner B have both to be set at 28.2 . I have a manual, either there's something i don't understand or i'm missing something. Could there be a missing plugin? The box is fine it goes like lightning. Either a fault outside or i missed somethin. Thanks for your help

box can work as a fta but it needs a signal which you have not got,recheck cables and lnb.

When you have scanned satellites press forward on d pad then blue for favourites and see if you have last scanned. This will give you channel list.
Then you can ftp your own bouquet list in.

Should it be set at vertical ? its horizontal at the mo. Does DHCP have any relevance? i don't think its set either. Not gonna sleep to-night

dhcp > yes { If you want lan connection no if you don't }
Automatic scan
clear before scan > yes { This will delete existing list if you want to keep existing list then select no }

Does DHCP have any relevance?,not for fta channels as lan is not needed.
