USB tuner for Duo or Uno??

    Lo there,

I asked this question in separate post, but it was a tad off topic so will ask again here.

Still umm'ing and arrr'ing as to whether to plump for genuine Duo or Uno.
Despite the attractiveness of some sites offering the Duo at reduced price (because Duo-2 out soon) I am still leaning towards the Uno. (newer, faster, more onboard memory, smaller footprint etc etc)
But at this point it only has the one tuner.
Pluggable/swappable twin tuner to come sometime later in the year (hopefully)

So if I was to purchase it I want to add ext-USB Terrestrial HD tuner to the mix. Ideally twin tuner if poss.

Are there a selection to choose from that people know will work, assuming the right firmware and drivers are deployed?? Or what should I be looking for in terms of spec??

    Thanks

    MD

Its not the specification of the USB tuner you should be looking at, It's whether or not the specific tuner you buy is compatible with the image and drivers.

Also not favouring Blackhole image here in any way but from research it appears that BH has a far greater success rate with external USB tuners than any other image

OK, Happy to go with BH digicon.
Is there any way of establishing whether the tuner is compatible with the BH image/drivers. Otherwise its an expensive game of pinning the tail on the donkey.

          A'ha,

Knew I had a TV stick lying around some where, and have just found it. Its an MSI Mega sky 580. Had it for some time
Just tried it on PC and it installs and fies up OK.

Can't seem to find reference to it in the section you link to. That is other than a list of firmware files in

          usb-tuner-it9135-alfatech.2622

There seems to be a .fw that mentions megasky. Whether its my one or not I don't know
          -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3360 Apr 7 15:07 dvb-usb-megasky-02.fw

Only one way to find out I guess.
