    Trying to set up RSS News Feed on vu+ duo

    Hi Guys,

    I'm trying to set up a good method of getting a sports news feed from bbc news or somewhere similar to my vu+ duo.

    I've got the LiveFootball 3.6 plugin running at the moment which has a news feed, but it only shows the headings of each news article.

    I have also installed TSPanel , and I see that it has an RSS reader. Does anyone know if that can be edited to get the news feed from bbc news?

    Or is there any other way that I could get the news to the box? This is mainly for my dad, who misses the bbc digital text for checking sports news.

    Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Dave

    OK I found a file called tspanelfeeds.xml in /etc, so I tried to edit it to display the rss feeds that I want.

    Here is an example of the way it was:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <feeds>
    <feed>
    <name>Dreamoem - Front page</name>
    <url>http://bbs.dreamoem.com/external.php?do=rss***38;type=newcontent***38;sect ionid=1***38;days=120***38;count=10</url>
    </feed>
    </feeds>

    I tried to edit it to display my own feeds, by putting in the URL and the name of the feed I want, but when I restarted and tried to use it, it says 'xml parsing error' or something like that.

    Any ideas? Would really appreciate some help here

      I've got RSS feeds working now, but its not great since it only shows the news headlines.

      Has anyone got any better ideas??

      Is there a web browser for the vix image that I could use instead and set a bookmark for the sports news pages?

      Surely someone must have encountered these issues before..
