updating my duo advise

ok my duo clone has been working flawlessly as long as i dont mess about with any plug ins.i tried the channel1 and not getting anywhere so im going to bring the box upto date with the new kernel to allow original vix 2.4 to be loaded.
question is:
do i need to put a new bootloader on there first?something i seen on the vix update page.if i do how do i do it?
and at what stage do i do it.
dont want to mess my box up so if someone can shed some light id be very gratefull.

Put the boatloader on a USB first> switch off box at the switch. insert USB > switch on box > wait for it to start loading , and say it has loaded ( note, some USB are not compatable)
After it has loaded switch off box > take out USB and put in a USB with the 2.4 image on and insert in box > switch on box and wait for it to finish loading > switch off box and remove USB , and switch on box. They say you should put in all the other settings again from new , and not use a settings backup.
I used a old settings backup without any problems, but you take a chance.

What image are you on just now?

there is 2 plugins in the tspanel for channel1, i believe one is for the vix image only, try that mate
