    vu+ duo with 3g

    Hi all.
So I've bought an edison 6200 nl modem, huawei e1750 dongle and a 3 sim.
I hooked it all up to my duo but it isn't connecting to the internet.
Is there something I have to do in settings to get it to work?
I did a network test but it doesn't find an i.p.
I thought it was just a matter of plugging it all in and off you go.
Any help from anyone out there who has a 3g modem, dongle and sim connected to their duo?
    Thanks all.

Get it working on yer PC m8, then just plug it into the Vu ?, you got DHCP enabled in the menu ?

Shouldn't think so, just check the network settings, reboot enigma, see if it connects :-)

Just click enable DHCP in the network settings menu of the Duo and it should auto detect the Duo.

Just a little info if your thinking of running this with a you know what on your duo firts thing i would do is run it on your PC and od a ping test from the router and not one of the site ones from a cmd prompt, I have seen a few of thses lately and they are giving out shocking ping times.

It did work. Now I've connected it to my pc again and there's nothing. Almost as if the modem has wiped all the drivers or something.

Try it in the Vu again m8, reboot box, then see if it works, leave it alone if it works :-)

Got absolutley nothing on the dongle. The little light doesn't flash, can't see it on my pc, it's as if it isn't even there.
This is now the second dongle this has happened to. First time I just though tit was a duff songle, but now it seems that between the Duo and the Router, they are somehow wiping the dongle.

How do you have this set up m8 ?, are you plugging the dongle
directly into the Vu or using a lan from the 3g router ?

Plugging dongle into Edison 6200nl 3g router which is connected to duo via lan.
The fact that this has happened to 2 dongles now makes me think that the router, stb or a combination of the 2 is frying the dongle.
I did notice it was quite warm when I removed it from the router.

Wont be anything to do with the lan m8, probably the router ?

Check the compatibility between dongle and router. I had an edimax and it wasn't compatible, had to get a zoom router and it worked dead on
