Recording from vu+duo to memory stick?

    Recording from vu+duo to memory stick?

    The little guy wants me to copy mickey mouse for him, can any of you guys teach me how to do it?
    I have a 30gb memory stick i on vix 2.4. I got about to days to do this.
    One thought i had was downloading the files to vu duo's internal hdd then copy them to stick, would that do the job?
    I copied a kids tv show a couple of days ago, it was copied to memory stk, it showed up and played on duo, but when i installed the stk into my lappy it didn't show up.

    So help would be nice. Thankyou in advance for replies.

      Use Dcc on your laptop.

      Login to the box root duo.

      The goto the ftp tab on the left so that the file sys is showing.

      Now goto the /hdd on the left and copy to the laptop dir on the right of your choosing.

          Or find the Vu Duo's root/hdd on yer comp via network, then locate the the file you have recorded in the HDD folder, copy it across to yer comp, convert the ts file to avi/DVD whatever format m8.
          Very simple to do, honestly :-)

              I'm on 2.4vix i don't know what vu login root is, i clicked on telnet (i installed vu+duo control centre. which threw up the black screen asking me for vu+ root. I need some assistance in real time cuz a min ago i almost formated my vu hdd.

                  I dont know if the ViX team changed the default password.

                  Deafult normally is duo

                  As said above you can navigate your network to the HDD and copy the file.

                      no. we dont set passwords on our images, we leave that for the user to do. the default login details are.

                      USER: root
                      PASSWORD: left blank ie none set.

                      if your using putty or DCC you may have to first set a password.
