    VU+ Ultimo advice

    Hi guys

hope this is in the right section, as I cannot find the ultimo section.

I have a DM800 HD Clone and want to upgrade to the VU+ Ultimo, I do want a original. I want 1 x satellite tuners and 1 x cable tuner. My question is

Can I use one satellite tuner to record and then use the cable tuner to watch freeview channels?

And how do I switch between the 2 on my box.

Plus anyone know where I can pick this up cheapish.

    Thanks in advance

why do you want a cable tuner? if your in the uk the cable tuner isnt much use and you would be better off with a dtt tuner, regards mdt

What satallite are you watching from ? if you run two feeds from the same dish you can record one channel while watching another . Just ot the ultimo myself . it is a great piece of kit.

I have got 2 feeds coming in (I used to have sky HD box), but my line provider wants to charge extra for the 2 lines and was hoping to get way with not paying any extra.

Well then you need 2 Dvbs tuners which the Ultimo comes with as standard. That'll enable you to watch one channel and record another. You could also add another tuner which would enable you to watch one, record 2 others at the same time.
You can get all the channels you want with a bit of Knowledge, but can't talk about that on here.

Have you told your provider that it's a dual tuner box and not 2 separate lines that you require?

Yes he will give a bit of a discount not much for having 2 "feeds"
