I have currently got a DM500s which im moving to another room and replacing it with a Vu+ Duo. Rather than put a hard drive in the Vu+, i was hoping to use a network drive instead that both boxes can connect to.

The reason for this is that i was hoping that i could record a program on my vu+ and play it back on the DM500s. Will this work? Will the format of the vu+ recording be recognised and played by the DM500s?

i have a duo with internal hard drive and use the solo elsewhere to play my recordings so the dm should also work.not into network recording so unsure.

The solo and duo are enigma2 boxes but dm500 is enigma1.
I think the network connections on these boxes hasnt got much support now

I have a Vu+ Duo box that is connected to a NAS drive for recordings and time-shifts. This works well. I do not have a second box. But I would have thought the only things affecting this would be the performance of your network and the NAS drive. Especially when both boxes are stimulatenously accessing/writing to the NAS.

You only need to setup a CIF share on the Vu and the 500 and both can record to NAS or access it for playback, The 500 E1 obviously wont be able to playback any HD recordings
