could tuners not get V transponders be voltage issue

    hi folks
had problems with my duo not picking up V transponders
read on thread elsewhere that V transponders are 18 Volts
been reading a few threads over the net about psu prebelms with the vu's
disconnected the hard drive and no usbs in sockets did another scan, but still not picking up V transponders (tested using my old dreambox picked everything up ok)
anyone know what the voltage output readings should be
getting o the point when i'm thinking about buying a different twin lnb box,

If its picking everything up with the DM then you can rule out the LNB as a fault, best to start from scratch reflash the box and try one of the many channel lists first

In the LNB do the Vertical transponders need a different voltage (18Volts) to the Hor transponders (13 Voltages)
if they do surely that comes from the reciever, or is that all in the LNB
flashed with a few images, over past few weeks, still have the same probelm
got a 90cm dish at moment, would a 1.1 mt dish help with reception

The receiver does supply the voltage for the switching of the H/V transponders, the only other thing to try is swapping from tuner A to B or the other way around in case of a tuner port problem

          thanks
i've swoped the tuners round, was still the same
was wondering if a bigger dish may help,
may just have to have this vu+duo hooked up to my sky dish
and hook the good old dreambox up to the motorised dish, as i only use the motorised dish to get football matches not on sky satelite
just seems a shame i can't get the vu+ duo to do what i bought it for

If you tried the Duo on the Sky dish and the Motorised dish and are still not getting the V TP's then the box is faulty if you are getting them on your DM on either dish

From reading this thread you where saying that your Duo is not picking up any of the Vertical Transponders and just the Horizontal ones is that on all satellites or just some hard to get fringe ones, The reason i ask is you have posted elsewhere about the poor quality of the tuners on fringe reception

got a vu+duo clone, my one just will not pick up the fringe satelites, there are lots of threads around saying their tuners are not any good on weak transponders

sorry for delay in getting back
got a sky dish on tuner A not scanned it just using one of the pre-made bouquets I will need to check which channels are V transponders on Sky
tuner B is on Motorised dish this one does not seem to be picking up any V transponders
as i'm only using the motorised dish for football matches (mostly only spurs matches) i don't check many V transponders
so the only satelites i really go to are .8W 4.8E 10E 13E 19E, use 4.8E to try to get viasat nordic signal many V transponders
over the weekend i will swop the tuners round so Sky is on B tuner & Motorised is on A tuner (i've done that in the past but will retry it)
trouble is the last 2 scans i've done took 4 hrs and 7 hours

I'm trying to work though it in a logical work, but different thoughts about what it could be keep coming up everytime i read different threads on various web sites
