lnb 2 not working causing recording problems

hi,

i had previous recording problems which i put down to my hdd but i think i have now diagnosed the problem, it seems my lnb 2 port isnt working, when each of the 2 feeds is in lnb 1 the channels are fine but if any of the 2 feeds are in lnb 2 nothing shows, so its the port on the box thats faulty both wires work fine in lnb port 1, therefore i think this is why i get the 'tune failed' when a recording starts on a separate channel to the 1 i am watching.

not sure what to do, is there anything i can do to try an fix it myself?

when you say LNB1 is working with both feeds from your dish have you also tried LNB2 on its own without anything plugged into LNB1 if this works on its own then you are getting a short somewhere on the board, take the lid off and have a look at the tuners and inspect for any damage,solder etc...

Lnb 2 doesn't work at all whether something is plugged in lnb1 or not, at least I think Iv got to the bottom of the recording issue it's been driving me nuts, really wishing I just went and bought a genuine box now but oh well live and learn.

If I can't fix myself do you think I could take it to a tv repair shop and get it fixed for a reasonable price??
