i havent updated my clone duo to v2.0 yet because i dont have a pc with null cable connection.can this be done via usb?ive searched for an answer but found no advise.
thanks in advance
Updated it to what exactly?
I don't think you can update it to use latest images as you need the v3 chip which is apparently faster than the v2.
And as to your question, As far as I know it has to be with null modem and you can't use a usb adapter to do it.
Sorry mate, I misread the op. I thought you had a v2 wanting to upgrade to v3. My bad.
Yes to upgrade to v2 you need a pc with null modem running windows xp.
From what I've ead a usb adapter doesn't work either.
All V2.0 clones should have come pre-flashed with kernel 3.1.1 so unless you want to de-solder the V2.0 chip and insert a V3.0 there is pretty much nothing else to do on it and as you rightly stated just use older images
ive just put the wrong image on the box in a mad moment, ive downloaded the wrong one from vuplus.(vix 2.4.96) instead of vix 2.3gm and realised too late.its now stuck on starting.is there anything i can do to recover it?
1.7.2 seams to be corrupt from the site so tried an earlier one but not getting any joy im afraid.the box was restarting a lot thats why i was putting a fresh install on it.maybe theres an underlying problem?
i downloaded all images (for my version)and one has just kick started it.just a case of finding a nice stable image now.thanks for your help.
