Hard Drive Always Unmounts after power off?

I've recently bought my vu+duo and installed the latest blackhole image on it no problems I mounted the hard drive which deletes all the data then i can do all the normal things with it i.e point the epg at it to store, however if i turn the box off at the wall and come back to it then the hard drive needs mounting again and i have to set up the epg paths again etc.

Is this normal? does it always happen if you turn the box off at the wall? as what if we have a power cut or something and i have lots recorded I'll end up losing it all?

Is this the case? Any help would be great

    Thanks

a hard drive would not be much use if it loses its data like recordings yes it might lose epg but why are you powering it off at wall,is it a clone vu+duo and external hard drive,i only power mine off with remote into standby or deep standby and never off.

I've been building it with new images and i've been rebooting it by switching it off and noticed this problem then thought what if i had a power cut or wanted to move the box to say decorate or something then i wouldnt be able to keep my recordings or am i doing something wrong?, its not a clone its original and the hard drive is internal, does this happen with yours

      Thanks

Try 'Initialze' hard drive in the menusystem and then mount the hard drive via the 2x blue button and followed by a full reboot.

Thats great will try that, in order for a full reboot is there a better way to do it rather than turning the power off at the back?

Yes when the message on screen appears that tells you that you need to reboot the receiver for the changes to take effect please press OK, Just do that press the OK button on the remote and let the receiver do a full reboot cycle without switching it off at the rear
