hello I currently have a f5s box but want a box with better emg and able to record on (Not using usb pen) is the vu duo a good box is it easy to use not not? is completely different to set up as from the skybox f5s??? thanks spagbol

Its a completely different receiver all together although the Flashing of firme/images so to speak is still the same ie: done through a USB stick all other functions of editing the receiver are done through FTP & Telnet programs via your PC/Laptop.
Have a look through the Enigma2 section and the VU section at the different Guides as this will give you some idea of what is required to maintain the box

I started with an F3 box and have used F5 boxes, I got a Vu+ Duo and I can totally recommend it, It is much more complicated to set up, but worth it when you get it how you want it, the menus are similar to slys if not better and recording, pausing etc is the same. If your image corrupts or box locks up, its not that difficult to sort out with help from these guys on here - main thing is to find a stable image which you like
