In this image the core has been extensively rewritten by Andy in conjunction with the OE Alliance.
You are advised to take a full image backup of your previous image before flashing.

Graphics and Text mode available.
Video Playback
All EPG screens now available while watching a recording, for easy switching back to Live TV or setting timers.
Channel Selection
Support added to change font sizes and number of rows.
Support added to have a 3rd event showing (Skin Dependent)
Support added to display start time and end time for all events shown.
EPG Selection
Added help screen to all epg selection screens.
Added support to change font sizes and number of rows.
Language Selection
Added English (UK) to available languages.

Instant record & Zap added to all EPG screens including EPG search. (short & long press record button)
Enhanced Movie List Features
It is now optional to play next movie, when the a movie reaches end, setup in menu of movie selection screen.

Vix 2.4 155 is the very latest you can go up to m8, Vu themselves bring out security measures to stop people using clones, nothing to do with guys who make these images just to clarify that :-)

I obviously won't do anything without checking here first, but does moving to a newer image toast the clone?

Is it the same for newer BlackHole images too?

Only bh 1.7.5 and under are ok.Vix 2.4 155 and under. The thread you quoted gives you the answers you need to know. Make sure you know your box and know how to flash it. If you don't I'm sure you will find everything on the forum. If your not sure about something ask.
If it isn't broke then don't fix it.

as pointed out it's down to the drivers Vu them selves make and release which we inturn use. They wont physically damage the receiver but it just wont boot until you flash a image with earlier drivers.

That said a guy on another forum released a ViX 3.0 image backup where he swapped out the new drivers for older ones and that will work on clones but being a ViX team member, I will say that we dont support or endorse such images, but hey it's not like i can stop you using it now is it ?.
