Problems with mounting USB & HDD

I have a problem with my usb & Hard drive mounting please help

I have just got a solo2 and installed vix image. Everything was fine I initialised disk usb then the hard drive and then mounted then and everything was working just fine. It was recording fine on to hdd and the picons where on the usb which all worked fine, timeshift on usb worked fine too. This lasted a day then last the picons disappered and it would not record either.

The both show up when i go to set up then when I initialise then they initialise up to 95% then say mounting then failed mounting.

Can some one help

Did you take out usb when initialising hdd? remount it and format to ext 3/4 for timeshift. Read this somewhere hth

No I suppose I didn't take out the usb when initialising the hdd. I will try that whn i get home. How about the USB will that initialise ok after the HDD

What size hdd is it? I heard of some people having trouble with 2 tb.

Its only 160gb
