Need some help to upgrade a friend's vu+ solo. Tried to set up TSmedia for him but films failed to play giving a missed gstreamer message. Checked his box and saw it has stickers on it saying V2.0 and 'download image from ...' . Checked that webpage but seems all Images there are dated and guess gstreamer drivers will not work. So is this a ferrari V2 clone or a sim2 clone? Which Image is safe for this box and also do the tricks with TSmedia?

It is likely to be a Ferrari v2 clone. There are hundreds of v2 clone safe images about right up to the very latest images of all flavors but I won't link to any from any other sites, I'm sure there will be some on site. Films on tsmedia not displaying is usually down to an outdated tsmedia or needs the proxies changing for the film sites. You can always find the latest version in the tsmedia library in the latest tspanel in the tunisiasat addons. -
Like I said earlier with the most recent ts media and a couple of proxy changes almost everything works with this box. I would set up file swap first though to reduce the green screens (crashes)Comment

Not sure about your amiko but the basis of file swap requires you to have either a usb flash drive/ external hdd or internal hdd if available formatted to ext4 which is standard if formatted by your Enigma 2 reciever. All images support file swap and will allow you to use from 32mb to 1gb (depending on image) of your hdd/usb stick to swap currently running files into thus freeing up additional internal ram. It's not quite the same as having the ram installed so your solo will never be as quick as a solo2 but it will make a significant difference. For a solo I would recommend 512mb max as 1gb doesn't always work for some reason. I can't give you a how to as the location of the file swap option varies depending on image. But you will find it in the settings if you look hard enough except on openatv where it is hiding in the red panel plugins section, Not the green panel plugins and not the setting. in Blackhole it is found by pressing blue then blue and you will find it in those options. In VIX it is in the VIX panel fromt he system settings or blue button then VIX panel from those options. Can't be much more helpfull than that without actually setting it up for youLast edited by happy_highlander; 17 February, 2014, 19:24.Comment
