It turns out had a security bytes_SS_10-xx-10-xx-10-xx-10-xx.
The old cold at the MCU until I could not read security bit.

you expect too much from clone....best invest in original upa and author adapters

I had similar problem with hc08 i could read but couldnt write some eprom data. Problem sorted after selected hc08azXXA version.
Not ''A'' version has ROM, ''A'' version the same memory area is threated as flash type memory so there could be the diffrence to. See aplication note for HC08.....
