Motorised set ups in pubs

Just wondering how pubs manage to get away with showing all the 3pm kick offs on a motorised set up.

Nearly every pub i go in have the footie on and they advertise it too . Is it illigal? and if it is, is it even if they have a valid card?

there has been a few cases go to court recently.

the pub landlords argue that why should you pay a few grand to greedy money grabbing sky when you can get a better service from someone else for half the price.

its like if you seen a old golf for sale for ?3000 or VW golf R32 for ?1500 you'd go for the R32, same thing in my eyes, but ar$ehole murdoch has far too much money and power for pubs to continue doing this, and unless there is some landmark wins for the pubs then less and less pubs will be showing 3pm footy

there is a case going throught the european high court called the murphy case at the moment although it has been adjorned till later this year,Murphy is a pub landlord who was using a legitame nova card to show live 3pm football, when some nice chaps from the police along with murdocks gestapo with the backing of the premire league took the card and equipment away.Then they went to court then to crown court then to the house of lords then to the european court of justice.The sky case was that they had breached copy right by showing elp in england live at 3pm to which sky ownes the rights to.Now murphy defence is that he bought the nova card legaly in the european union
EEC and has the right of free trade.
so while the lawers are getting rich no prosicution will be made until the european court makes its final disision that how the pubs get away with

I think if the pub pays a sub to another provider then whats all the problem about most of them still pay a sub with sky aswell anyway

i totaly agree with you on that one,If a pollish work comes to england and take a job and that legal why cant english landlord take a pollish sat subscription and show it in his pub

yea this is pure bullying by $ky. why should one pub somewhere pay ?300 a month while another pay ?1500 for the same channels just because they are different in size? some pubs dont even make that money back so why would they not try something else? very silly $ky.
