New firmware to Upgrade Channel list by Network

Yojiatech has new firmware on it's site that allows updates to the channel list over the network.

There is also a doc file (posted 4 times???) that give you instructions.

There's firmware for the V5s, V8s & V8se (I assume that it will work for the F3s & V6 as well). I will try the V8s firmware on my V6 tomorrow.

OK. Installed the new V8s firmware on my V6.

I was wondering which channel list it would update & it's CWAITE's list dated 24/09/15 (so not the latest one). There is also the option to install an Irish channel list. It would be good if they had given you the choice between CWAITE's & AJ's list.

You can also update the firmware over the network & the Weather app.

The "key" & "others" options don't contain any files.

I wonder why it's called the Irish list?

As you say, it's AJ's list dated 12/9/15, so like CWAITE's list, it's not the latest version.

The potential for this to remove USB updating in the future will be a serious plus for openboxs (openboxs version of autobouquets)...if they could now keep channel list files up to date on the server and offer people a choice of either AJ's or Cwaite's list....a big step for them and now makes them a lot more appealing especially for non-tech minded people....

i would like to ask what does this connect to? is it possible to connect to your suppliers as i use a specialised channel list.

Guys think what he meant was what **** is the new firmware connecting to, to retrieve the channel list....think he wants to setup up his own *****to host his own edited channel list but i cant imagine that happening as you cannot enter details for which ***** to connect to (although it would be a nice touch if we could)

Have upgraded on my slybox f5s , works great , can't understand who is maintaining the channel list connections. But works very nicely.
Strange that I started a thread about this a month ago , and now it is sorted, must mean the openbox people are reading this forum.

Updated my F5s with the V5s firmware this morning. Used AJ's (Ireland???) channel list. Still not up to date. It's downloading the 12/9/15 list.

It does save a bit of time this way, but if they can't update their database with the latest lists quickly, then it's not much use if your missing your favourite channel due to a frequency change.
