saw this elsewhere make of it what you like --
Internet V2.0 due in 2012; (trialled already in Texas USA) will use the same model as SKY does. Subscription based content. You will pay a monthly fee & receive the new faster, more efficient WEBv2. However this new web will be owned by BIG Media companies & they?ll sell ?shop fronts? to big players such as EB@y & Am@zon & the only things you will see online as a subscriber; will be those ?shops? that the owners of Web2 have allowed. The small sites ? just like this one will fall by the wayside ? why?
Because to access the rest of the internet you?ll need to pay an additional fee to do so (and people won?t) ? then you will find it slow & unreliable & one day it won?t work at all, because WebV1 won?t be maintained & will gradually die off. Interesting that the US congress has already signed away content control to the ISP?s over there ? think about that..
This means the only News & information that will be available to NET ?users? will be what the controlling companies want the masses to see. Sites like this & sites with news reports that don?t make mainstream news; simply won?t exist. Questions won?t be asked any more - as conflicting information will never see the light of day. By the way they also propose eventual access to this new hypernet will be by thumbscan device ? think about that too for a while.
