Hi. I am kind of new to carprog. I have a quick question for someone who used carprog before. Do i need to have good srs dump(file) to overwrite the bad one or can i just clear crash data with carprog without having to search for good file who knows where?
The genuine article has always had a counter. The hacking will have been done on 4.01, the latest version available at the time it was hacked.
In the hack will have been a counter stopper. So version 4.00 is just as likley to trigger the counter as any other version that has not been modified to work on the copies.

You need a good dump from the crashed srs to repair the srs module, so you can't just use a blank file) . The carprog will look for certain things in the dump before it will even load.
Its a pain sometimes, the other anoying thing is it won't repair a file from memory. So if someone on DK wants you to repair a dump they have posted you have to download that dump into an eeprom, repair it then read it back to file.
I have had it where the srs module isn't listed but one with virtualy the same number is listed. So I think I will try to repair with the simular part number ( used to do it all the time in the early days on clio's ). Now when yo load the dump you want to experiment with it will not proceed because it knows its not the correct dump.

yes carprog does it for you... well on the ones it has in its db.

As stated by someone, yes if its in the database, but as also stated , if the dump is trashed, then you need a similar dump to start with.
So its a good idea to start building your own personal airbag database with crash and clears, but make sure you are meticulous about the numbers because the variants. so besides the obvious numbers, title any letter variations and also the exact model etc.
A pain at the time, but as I learned to my cost, the same as dash datasets, the more info, the better in the future when you need them.
When using carprog, you can save and or view the dataset before and after the repair
Well, the man who thinks he discovered alternating current [but didnt] still looks like Charlie Chaplin to me! [although at one time they lived in address`s less than 3 miles apart]
