    Wink Computer/Office chair, what's the best ??

My old man (dad) spends lots of time at the computer, maybe sitting there 8 to 10 hours a day etc.

Hes always had the executive style leather chairs, but now after talking to some people iam not so sure that they are actually the best seat to have, and he complains that his azz gets very sore.

When he looks at chairs he looks firstly at how good looking it is, so for him thats a factor, it needs to be neat modern design, and obviously has to be leather, the back support for him isnt as important as the actual seat part, although he knows that back support is meant to be a good idea, but for him he prefers not having a sore azz, and then not having a sore back secondly, which is fair enough, up to him.

He hasnt tried any other types of chairs like the office manager 24 hr seats and things like that, so we are kinda wondering what type to go for as the normal executive ones seem to break rather easy and/or the leather will burst on the arms and stuff, and thats even on chairs of ?175 etc.

I hope people can spare the time to comment as it would be a great help, any direct links to sites etc would be greatly appreciated.

We all make the same mistake, I am worse than most. We try to adapt a chair to the computer instead of the other way round. What is wrong with sitting in a comfortable lounge chair with the computer on or near your lap, your arms in a natural position at the keyboard and the screen in another suitable position.

A suitable computer would probably be cheaper than a big expensive computer chair.

Sorry I will go away now.

Well i have used several different chairs in past ranging from ur cheap nasty budget ones to the exec ones, i never ever found one i was happy with, ok its only a chair but if you spen dup to 3-4 hours or more a da on it then it has to be right.

PC Chairs :: Computer chairs was site i found , never used them, but if u have a quick look you will see the memory foam pads. Yeah its great, am currently using it on a leather high back kitchen chair, and its great tried it on on the exec chair as well and its just as good.

So maybe its an easy option is to buy a foam pad first and try it out on the chair he currently has.

not tried them no mate, looked up pc worlds website and they have 2 chairs, they look crap, , and house of sher, last time i was there was over 20 years ago, never liked the place, , but anyway, iam not gonna go looking in places for him, i dont mind doing some research on the internet for him and he can order online, but iam not going looky looky in shops etc, thats too much like hard work, .

staples do a load of them including that one i mentioned, but thier prices are even deerer man , guess at least you have the backup of a big name though.

ok, update, got the panther/panama seat from staples, 256quid in total it cost, after a while putting it together etc, i can honestly say from an unbiosed opinion that first thoughts of the seat are its very well built, feel very comfortable, slightly firm but comfy, back and seat feel same quality, plenty of options to move the seat and back up n down and fixed etc etc, arms rest well molded too, not just hard plastic, more like a rubbery platic texture, and they move up n down as well as in and out.

Overall iam happy enough although its early days yet, the 5 year warranty helps a lot too, ohh and not to mention the staples no questions asked 12 month warranty in which you can return the chair for any reason at all during the first 12 months, they come and pick it up etc and refund your money, all these things help.

hope this maye help other people in same situation as myself.

ok, update on this seat, i bought one too, its crap, i had to give it time to see how it would be but nah, its far too firm on the ass, its like sitting on ferckin concrete after a while, ive even tried getting another seat since then and thats garbage too, i now wish i would have just kept the one i had to start with and took you guyz advise and maybe just tried a memory foam cushion on it instead of buying a new chair , silly me...

Iam considering just reordering the one i had to start with and maybe getting a decent cushion for the seat, at least it was a decent build quality chair, these other ones are crap, hmmmm, back to the drawing board with this, my dad says he finds his is ok, he must have an old leather butt on him, now his ass is ok and mines is sore, ffs man, i wish i would just listen sometimes, LOL.

Has anyone actually tried out some of the memory foam seat cushion pads to see if they work good or what ??
