Hi, I have the TomTom XL?S IQ Routes Edition from USA. That means I have the US Maps loaded on my TT on default.

Now I want to add UK Maps withoud deleting the USA Maps. As the TT does not have SD memory, I deleted some voices to have 220mb free space on the TT internal memory.

I downloaded the United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_v_850.2820 map. In my TT Home I get Emulator 9.026.483454.1. That means 850.2820 should work my TT, right?

I also downloaded the EasyActivator5_v0.57.21 and meta_850_1 file.

Can someone help me how is now the procedure to get the UK map to my device?

United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_v_850.2820 map will work with pretty much all navcores, and will work with yours.
Not a feature rich map, but will do.
Do a google for updating your device. There are plenty of guides out there, I have spent many a time repeating how to do it too.
If your struggling I or others will help, but you got to do the leg work yourself.

Hi this is my first post so I apologise in advance if I ask silly questions. I have a TomTom XL340S IQ. It has App 9.026.483454.103 OS 1000 GPS v1.20 Boot 1.0012.

I assume this means I have Navcore 9 but there is no Navcore folder on the unit.

I have New Zealand map 850.2781 on it. Does this mean that any 850 series maps will work on the unit?

I have read all the posts and understand I need a map, a meta file, a tts file and some sort of crack but am unsure as to what map version to go with. I am looking for the Australia and Italy maps. Can anyone help me out?

Appreciate some advice.

Paddies chart in post 112 tells you what maps work with 9.026, pretty much all the 850 series,

The whole of the root files is pretty much your navcore, so there isn't a navcore folder as such.

The maps you can put on is dependant on your free memory. when you connect to a computer, how much free space do you have? is there a memory card slot?

The only thing I worry about with your device is the bootloader version, I have read for you not to update it unofficially as it can brick your device, but, your good with your current navcore and bootloader anyway, so I wouldn't mess with that side of things.
The maps, yeah go ahead and put new ones on.

Well, I may missed a point, but until now, here is what i've done:
download the United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_v850.2820
used the tt8_keygen.exe to create the dct file and copied the United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland in my tomtom root folder.
so now i have two map folders:
USA_Canada_and_Mexico_P
and
United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland

But the maps cannot be found when i start my tt.

did i miss a step? pls help.

When you ran it.. did it say dct file created ok?
If you look in your map folder, you will see a file called United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_v850.2820.d ct ... is this there?
If not, it may be the meta file isn't up to date.
I am gonna put an updated meta file on my uploads soon, but in the meantime this is the meta

EC 2D 34 1D 98 BC 48 C0 7A B1 88 E2 0A EF 0A 79 United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-169.meta

open a meta.txt file and copy and paste this in.

when i ran it i got the msg that the dct file is ok.
however, the file that has been created is United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-169.meta.dct

so it does not have the exact name as you mentioned above: United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_v850.2820.d ct

perhaps that is the mistake.

I also saw in some threads that i need updated ttsystem. however these were for the version 7 and before. is it still true that i need updated or patched ttsystem? I have version 9 in my navcore.

No no, you should be ok with the dct file you got.
You're using Albert swafegas program to crack the file?
(I just love his name)
Go back into it and run the ttsystem patch or whatever it is..
down near the bottom left if memory serves me right.. your almost there.

So I have downloaded Australia 8.45.2661 and the meta file. What I am unsure of is exactly how to install it. Do I use Albert's, Easy tools or keygen 4.1D?

I assume I copy the map files to an Australia folder on the TT but where does the meta file go?

I would really appreciate some guidance.

Hi mate,
You can use any of the above programs you mentioned. If you use Alberts, you get an option to insert the meta.txt, or to download his latest meta file. There will be a good chance his meta contains the Aussie meta anyway.
Alberts program also asks you to browse for the map, and then the ttgo.bif. This file is for your 10 digit id number, so if you find it not recognising the ttgo.bif (which sometimes gives probs) then just input your 10 digit code instead, with no spaces.

keygen 4.1 has a nice interface, and works well, but you will need the meta.txt file in the same folder as the rest of the 4.1d stuff, or it will fail straight away.

I tend to use Alberts, go through the motions, and if it fails, drag the meta.txt I downloaded into the Keygen 4.1D and use that.

IF the 4.1D fails for meta reasons, open up the meta.txt file in notepad and insert the meta text you have for Aussie map.., then try again.

I have downloaded them and understand that you need to put the two files in the relevant map folder and then generate a dct file. Not sure about how that is done. Are there separate meta files for the speed cams? If so where do you get those?

The problem I'm having, is that the current maps on the TT are 800.1727 at 1.77gb while the 845.2647 maps are 1.91gb.

When I try and copy them over, there is not enough room on the TT.

Suggestions?

Should I just go buy a 4gb card to put into the TT and move everything to there?

What does that do performance wise?

Found a 2 gig sd card laying around, installed the maps on it... ran the easyusetools, and got the new maps on it to work.....

What did we all do before the Internet?

Probably will go buy a 4-8 gig sdhc card and use that in the future....

Hi everyone, i have the TT GO530, it has already UK & IRL maps in it, it also has a memory card slot.
I really want to have the Spain maps so my question is:
can i just download the spain maps and have them on a SD card, then insert it whenever i go to spain?
also, all the links on the first post for the maps are invalid, are there any fresh links for the download?
and finally, is it an easy job cause i am not an expert in TT maps downloads,
