mercedes VGS programming

i have a mercedes W221 156 changing the gearbox VGS unit only ( not the complete valve body), problem is star diagnose does not read the EHS part number for the new VGS , so cannot code & program the new VGS, anyone knows how to put the EHS & coding no to it with develoment mode or step by step on how to do it, tried to follow the step mention on SD media but cannot find icon to save the old data to star diagnose, anyone can help me on which block & what to enter by the development mode, tried transfering old data to new vgs withou success, please advise, thanks in advise

It could be done online,..but it takes more than 5 min!
What about 30 minutes,...and first you must wright the EHS number manually,...then to program the ETC module with the present software,..to code it,...then to program the engine ecu with the present software,..to code it too,..and
at the end you have to adapt your gearbox on the road!

weltune,..please take a look at correction programming menu,..in normal DAS,..forget development menu!

can you please advise on how to write the EHS part number manaullly to the new unit as i have been trying without success for a day

write ehs successful now, but problem with programming again, NO NEWER CONTROL SOFTWARE FOUND, cannot proceed,

2106 is not the latest EHS number for this vehicle that's why you've got "No new....."
There are documents to tell which is the latest or look for the correct number in EPC.

your software is up to date.
do scn coding online again,..repeat,..and if no luck,..call the help desk!

did you already update the engine software,..was the engine scn coding successful?

no, the scn for the eng ecu is still not done yet, will try again monday before calling the help desk, thanks

Hi !
Try to set EHS # 220 270 29 06 or 220 270 31 06, i don't know what from this two , because not have full vin and can't see gearbox # ...
and attention after successfull VGS programming and before SCN coding ENGINE NOT START... (this is only with new ecu)

And one problem with only ecu replacement - if you have EHS with # 220 270 12 06 or 220 270 14 06 - don't try change ecu, new ( replacement, 000 270 17 00 ) ecu NOT compatible with above EHS. In this case no other way than order EHS/ECU complete set.

When I do SCN with replacement ECU only, my clone DAS will happen error and the DAS closed. Anyone konw how to solve the problem?

Hello , read your old EHS number you can put your old bord read with star print the VGN version screen , put ur new one go to control united adoptaion --> specail settings --> EHS part number note if your das old you need password , if your das is 7-2010 and up you don't need password .

What version of DAS?
Did you start with Xentry or DAS only?
